What is a Passive House?
The energy efficiency in a building, which reduces the building’s ecological footprint. The focal point of a Passive House is to minimize air leakage from the property.
How is this accomplished?
Passive houses are designed with super-insulation, high-performance windows, an airtight envelope that minimizes energy consumption while providing thermal comfort to its residents.
Airtight building envelopes, increase occupant comfort, allow for downsized mechanical systems& lower energy bills.A great deal has been happening here at the Littleton, Belvue Passive House build. We have just added the most beautiful blue of them all...the SIGA...
Passive houses are so energy-efficient they can save up to 90% in heating costs. Why we build Passive? B-Line Construction Services owner, Bryan Williams says, "we build passive because we care about our planet" and that building passive uses "cutting edge building...
Passive Houses are built 8 to 10 times more airtight than a typical code-level building.Properly controlling moisture in a Passive House improves air sealing and insulation, which in turn helps control moisture. Dampproofing is a coating, usually asphalt-based, that...
